Day Three Hundred Sixty-Five!!

The End. Woohoo. I did it! :) (And will start it all over again tomorrow because I've lost my mind apparently thinking I can keep up with a Project 365 and a new baby ;)!! )

Here's how we celebrated the end of 2010. A year of tons of change and excitement (I'll do a wrap up of the year tomorrow when I add the last few missing pictures)...Anyways, yes I'm in sweats- yes it's a little blurry (hey it was a 5 second exposure!) But we had just gotten back from our first date in months because the kids stayed at my mom and dad's for the week while we get the house ready for new baby. So imagine we're dressed up glamourously and not blurry...;) and enjoy the end of a fabulous year. I think I'll be asleep before it's over (and sleeping in on the first day of 2011 if I can!!). Happy New Year!

Day Three Hundred Sixty-Four.

We're headed back to LA tomorrow- so I'll finally be able to add this week's pictures, just in time for the LAST picture of my Project 365 (well until I start the next one- the next day ;) ). *picture added*
Today's picture is of Ellie and my dad (newly re-named Boppy or Boppa!)  reading night-night stories :)

She has him wrapped around her finger almost as much, if not more, than her daddy.

 Day Three Hundred Sixty-Three.

My reflection in one of my parents' many looking glass balls....

Ellie and her new critter house...she loves this toy and putting the bun buns and meows to bed :) Daddy prefers light saber fights with Gavin I think ;)

Gavin climbing on the stump(s) of a tree my parents' had cut recently. He thought it was alternately sad and lots of fun to climb on. (But he said he missed the tree too).

Gavin was in train heaven when Daddy climbed up in Mimi's attic and brought out his old Lionel train set. Thankfully it made it's way back to Louisiana with us :)

Day Three Hundred Fifty-Nine.

Merry Christmas!

Gavin busted our door down at 7:30 (I was glad he slept in a little, because I was wide.awake from 1-6am). asking, "Did Santa come to visit me??" and we told him to go check....(he said quietly) "Come with me, it looks scary down there." While we were getting up- he snuck downstairs- and then ran back upstairs quickly, crying..."Mama, Santa isn't down there anymore...he didn't stay!". So we tried to explain that Santa can't stick around and asked if he had at least left presents, "yessss." And then he ran back downstairs, and came running back up quickly and very excitedly..."He brought me Annie and Clarabell!"   So the highlight of his Christmas morning was Santa bringing him trains. :)

And Ellie's highlight (much bigger deal than waking up sick :( ), was the "meow" piano...we've heard it all.day.long- she also likes GI Joe's for their fabulous "booooots!" and because one looks like Daddy apparently :)

It was a fairly quiet day at home with just us, and the dogs are fine after their escapades last night- just sore and a little more cautious when they go outside. We hit the road tomorrow, hopefully I'll be able to mobile blog the last few pictures. If not, I guess I'll catch up when I get back :-/

P.S. I have officially decided to do another P365 next year- just plan on upgrading the blog for it :)

Day Three Hundred Fifty-Eight.

Oh the things I could've taken pictures of...the dogs coming home after escaping the yard...battered and bleeding (I'm assuming one or both got hit by a car or some other large object...) Ellie proudly proclaiming she'd just pooped in the tub...our terrible wrapping job of the kids' presents (okay mine more than Andrew's!)....
but I went with my "reflection" in an ornament at the big tree at the Boardwalk. The ornaments were so not the right kind for good reflections...but oh well :) Merry Christmas Eve!!

As much as I enjoy receiving Christmas cards- you'd think I would get mine in the mail on time. Alas, they will be going out tomorrow- because I forgot to put them out there today ;) I love getting the cards though- it's a great way to keep up with old friends the Air Force has moved away!

Day Three Hundred Fifty-Six.

 

A little cooler today but it was another beautiful day for the playground, and since Daddy is finally on leave..he got to tag along :) Miss "I hate swings" of yesterday, had so much fun...she giggled and said "Whee!" the whole time today. Must have something to do with Daddy being there ;)

How did we celebrate the first official day of winter?? With 78 degree temperatures and a trip to the new playground across from our house :) Gavin was so happy to have a playground with swings so close by!

Bah humbug.

I had every intention of a good picture today to start the t-minus 10 days till the end of my project 365, but starting my morning out with the blood glucose test/28 week appointment and then CRAZY children (all day long)...this is as good as it gets- and mobile blogging is down- so I'm not even sure how I'm going to post once we go out of town this weekend...otherwise you'd see the equally lackluster image of the chocolate mousse pie I ate to "celebrate" the glucose test ;) Hey- until they tell me I failed....I'm going to have my cake and eat it too.

Day Three Hundred Fifty-Two.

The picture says it all...Ellie was not a fan of Santa. The picture that Bass Pro Shops took is even funnier because she was seriously upset in it..but I'll take what I can get- she tried to jump ship by the time they let me up there with my camera :)
Gavin proudly told Santa he wanted Annie and Clarabell (he doesn't quite understand why Santa couldn't just produce them out of thin air...) but overall, it went well- the model trains were a much bigger hit with Ellie :)

Ellie girl snuggling her kitty meow stocking...she carries it around a lot (meowing) and cries if you try to put it away so she doesn't inevitably spill something on it before Christmas (similar to how she cries when you pry her ornament for this year out of her hand (a kitten in a basket of yarn!)).

But it's the price I pay for trying to do an iphone picture- and not knowing that for some reason I can't send or receive texts right now...Sooo...the picture will be here after I send it through email. Day Three Hundred Forty-Five.

 

I was too sick and it was too windy for me to attempt to drag these balloons outside, so this is not what I envisioned for this picture at all. (Aside from the fact that they were originally for a cake smash that got moved to tomorrow...since the balloons probably won't still be floating tomorrow-I just let the kids play with them). There's tons wrong with this picture but the joy from Ellie as she kept reaching up for the "bubbles" was priceless. She was so happy :) That erases all the technically wrong crap that drives me nuts away!

Day Three Hundred Forty-Four.


Both kids had plenty of energy to burn after MDO today so we walked to the Air Force museum and they ran it off looking at all the planes :)







The last one annoys the photographer in me on so many levels (chopped feet, blown sky...) but it was so the mood of the afternoon- Ellie and one of her "meows", Gavin refusing pictures...life :)

Day Three Hundred Forty-Three.

 

Oh Ellie girl- and your drama. No nap. Playdate at the indoor playground. Brother didn't share the milk as promised. All added up to the beginnings of a melt down. Mama had to get her friend to buy another on her Starbucks run to save the day....and then Ellie downed her "moo juice" like she was so.thirsty.  Still didn't quite prevent the tantrums that followed (from her and big brother). 

We are retiring from the public eye for awhile!

We're a little behind getting our Elf on a Shelf up...and for what it's worth...Gavin pretty much thinks it's a joke. For a kid with the biggest imagination I've ever seen- he thinks it's a stupid idea apparently. For example, we are upstairs- he shoves Ellie, I remind him that the elf is watching everything he's doing to report to Santa (he's not entirely sold on Santa either), and without missing a beat..."Well, he didn't see that, he's downstairs, he can't see me right now...."

Can't believe I'm into the last month of my Project 365! The dogs got their Christmas presents a little early... Cozy Cave beds... Gromit is in heaven as you can see. Wallace could care less- he still prefers his old bed but we'll see once we turn the heat down and he gets cold ;)

PS. This month I'm trying my hardest NOT to use my iphone and to sneak in a week of self-portraits since I never did that. We'll see how that goes though!

I tried several different things today and this is definitely different processing for me. But, the picture was already hazy from lens flare so I just played with the haze. It's fun to try new things and even if no one else likes it- I think I like it.

Day Three Hundred Twenty-Eight.

A two-for-one...

I couldn't not post this one...it was Gavin's first true lego creation. He built while I was sick this morning..no comment on being 24 weeks plus pregnant and throwing up again. Anyways, he was so proud of it but wouldn't get in the picture with his fire station....

And then all the wind today has pretty much demolished the fall color (boo to not getting our family pictures in before it was gone- oh well!) It's supposed to rain all day tomorrow so that probably cements the deal ;)
