Day One Hundred Fifty-One.

Hubby pinned on Captain today (sort of...they don't do a ceremony for them!) But all the same, it's a nice feeling to be moving on up in the ranks ;) I'm very proud of him! And yes, he totally had to sew them on himself- because I couldn't even figure out how to thread the darn sewing machine, much less get it to work! *ashamed!*  I will learn how to sew! I promise!

Day One Hundred Fifty.

Didn't you always wonder what the inside of a lens looked like?? Nah..me either. But my beloved 50mm took one for the team this morning after Gavin dropped my camera with this lens attached. Totally my fault for leaving where he could reach it...but I'm not too pleased to be without this lens. Especially with the newborns I have coming up...I was ready to upgrade to the 1.4 but didn't want it to be this way. Farewell dear lens.

Day One Hundred Forty-Nine.

We finally got the pool out today- and despite the fact that I thought the water was f.reeeezing. Gavin loved it!

He started shivering though and came running to me asking, "Mama, what's happened to my teeth!?" But you couldn't convince him to get out of the water either! ;)

Day One Hundred Forty-Eight.

Daddy put together the kids' joint birthday present, a really cool playhouse. And Gavin loves it! His favorite part...climbing on top of it. His second favorite part... getting Mommy or Daddy to put his new dinosaur on the roof first...(The dinosaur is a present, an attempt to get him to stop using a pacifier. He picked it out of all the other toys in Toys r us...we're sending his old pacifiers to our friends who just had their little baby, Gavin thinks he's sharing and seems pretty cool with it so far!)

Day One Hundred Forty-Seven.

The trouble I went to, to get a dandelion shot....oh my! Our yard has absolutely NO dandelions (usually people are happy about this!) I've been wanting a shot of him blowing the dandelion fluff for ages...he's so cute about dandelions...he says, "dandelions say RAWR Mama!" So, today after a MOPS committee meeting, I spotted tons of them growing in the church parking lot grass....and promptly picked a bouquet of them to take home. (MOPS mamas that saw me do this...yes, I know I'm crazy!) But I love the results so oh well to being thought of as a little nuts ;)  I knew that anyways!

One year ago today...when she was born at 10:22 am, weighing 7 lbs 15 oz. :)


and today while she was digging into her giant cupcake. This is a girl that loves cupcakes!

P.S. I love that I've been hired for a few birthday parties- I think it's totally worth it, and should have considered it myself- it's just about impossible to take pictures of your own kid's birthday party without appearing totally anti-social!

The view around here...Little bit is trying to figure out new ways to get around. She loves to convince anyone (usually Poppy) to hold her hands and let her stroll around the house...

She's so busy...but appears to be content to save her first steps alone for when we head home this weekend...for Daddy hopefully :)

 Gavin is a huge fan of the movie The Iron Giant....here he's pretending to eat the column at Mimi's house (we went there for a quick visit today). He also likes to pretend chomp on power lines and telephone poles...from the car ...we drive past them and he yells, "Nummy power lines! Nom nom NOM!" (I wish I was kidding about how he pronounces yummy) ;)

I didn't hit the road till well after 2 this afternoon for the 6 hour drive home...this was much needed to keep me awake! Especially since both kids didn't make a peep for the first almost 3 hours of the trip!

Ummm wow. The 7D is amazing, now the picture I'm about to show may not seem all the fantastic but other camera dorks like me will appreciate the settings I was using to get this shot...

I shot this at ISO 3200,  a setting that didn't even exist on my old Rebel but helps so much when shooting in low light...So I finally am able to capture cute bath tub shots without dragging the speedlite into the bathroom! The kids bathroom is a complete cave so the fact that I captured this adorable moment with no flash...I'm in LOVE with this camera! Yay!

My sweet husband surprised me with this little beauty today! He sent me a text clue and then hid it from me while I was gone... Took me awhile to find it once I raced home and of course! The battery was not charged :( I can't wait to test it out tomorrow!! What an awesome husband I have :)

Gavin really enjoyed running through the sprinkler and spraying his friends with the garden hose today. It hit over 90, so I guess summer is coming early to Louisiana!!
