Day Three Hundred and Four.

Happy Halloween :)

We started the night at a neighbor's get together...

Gavin and Calvin kept saying, "This is the BEST Halloween ever!" It was too cute!

And Ellie kept yelling, "My get candy! My trick or treating!"

And Owen was just along for the ride (he was quite content to just sit back and watch).

We ended the night by finally putting a candle in the (already rotting, though just carved Saturday) pumpkin and Gavin sat back to admire it!

Day Three Hundred and Three.

A little more fisheye fun from bedtime tonight :) Had to be careful, the wide angle almost showed too much of the piles and piles of laundry waiting to be put away. We had a fun extended weekend with Daddy but sadly real life returned this afternoon and I'm busy catching up to it :)

Day Three Hundred and Two.

We had a nice afternoon at the park. It was so much more fun with Daddy around to help Ellie swing higher and Gavin was able to finally try out the monkey bars :) Kiddos even pretended to like having their pictures taken ;)

Day Three Hundred and One.

We carved pumpkins today. The kids enjoyed it and I'm sure I'll enjoy the roasted pumpkin seeds later :) We had another instance of pumpkin cannibalism and Ellie made her "MeowMeow pumpkin" again this year. For fun, see how small she was last year.

Day Three Hundred!

Today we went to a pumpkin party :) One of Gavin's best friends is really in love with Snoopy and the Great Pumpkin movie so I was super excited to find a plate/cup/bowl set for him. His favorite holiday is Halloween and so his mom decorated everything all cute and we had pumpkin muffins and juice and spider suckers! Lots of fun, and by the end of the play date, the rain was moving in and the weather actually felt like fall!

Day Two Hundred Ninety-Nine.

We had a picnic at the park this afternoon. Owen rode in the wagon for the first time and Ellie enjoyed some swing time (and I enjoyed playing with the fish eye lens I have borrowed for the week!).

Day Two Hundred Ninety-Eight.

A friend's husband borrowed my macro to take some shots of their newborn son, he offered to let me borrow his fish eye lens in exchange :) Dangerous. Now I have another lens to add to the want list ;) It's been fun to play around with for sure! The first are of one of our trees in the front yard, probably one of the biggest (literally) things I will miss when we move! Gavin asked if they would fit in the moving van ;)

And then after a session tonight that I'm not sure how I survived (Hazards of nursing- I've got mastitis and feel like death warmed over), Gavin and Ellie begged me to take their picture. Seriously. So I didn't turn them down, despite the fact that they weren't dressed for pictures- heck, Gavin didn't even have on shoes ;) But I used the fish eye for fun!

With the crazy distortion, her arms are way bigger- but I love how it shows her big hug for MeowMeow :)

Day Two Hundred Ninety-Seven.

We had a fun picnic/photo shoot planned at a local park, but it closed at 5 (we were a little late). My sweet friend/photographer Lindsey wanted to do pictures of ME and my kids :) She did some quick thinking and we went to another friend's house out on the bayou/lake. It worked out perfectly. The kids had a blast throwing rocks off the dock (and yes, because of the drought, the water is WAAAAY lower than it should be). Lindsey got beautiful shots of me WITH my kids and we had fun :) We roll with the punches (and spiders! ;) ) that life throws at us and I love it- I'm going to miss our crazy photography centered outings. Who's going to take such gorgeous pictures of my babies for me once I move?? Ellie was as usual sassy and wanted nothing to do with me/cameras :)

Day Two Hundred Ninety-Six.

I love bedtime for many reasons, but one is this little cuteness that happens. Except for tonight, Ellie kept yelling, "he's touching the pages!" "he's going to eat the book!" and Gavin kept hugging/smooshing Owen but Owen didn't seem to mind :)

Day Two Hundred Ninety-Three.

My kids were most uncooperative tonight. They ignored the beautiful light, and flowers and crisp fall air...and were argumentative and sassy. (Even Mr. Owen!) But here they look sweet don't they? Gavin had caught a ladybug and he was showing it to Ellie :) He told me, "Mama, I love it! She's red and that's my favorite color!" Sadly it flew away after this shot before I caught a picture of it, but he had fun running through the field with his best friend trying to catch more :)

Day Two Hundred Ninety-Two.

Found!

We are so so so happy we found Doodle today. He had been missing since Monday and I was almost as sad as Gavin about his disappearance. (I cried when I found him today, and teared up again when Gavin hugged him so happily! And then laughed because Gavin asked if he could have a cookie to eat, "because Doodle is probably a little hungry from being missing...."

Day Two Hundred Ninety-One.

We made "flubber" today. Gavin had so much fun helping (that's going to be an eventual blog on the family blog). He promptly turned it into lava/tar pit for his dinosaurs to play in. Not sure how long this stuff keeps, but it was easy enough to make so I figure we'll make it more often and in other colors :)

Day Two Hundred Ninety.

They love feeding him. He's a pretty big fan of it too. I got inspiration for this shot from the fabulous Leah Cook Photography as part of her CMPro daily project. I realized I really needed a shot of the kids feeding Owen, so that was my goal today. Now, I need a video of it because it's one of their silliest times of the day. And I don't ever want to forget how sweet these laughs are :) I got a lot more that I'll get up on the family blog tomorrow. I've got a bad headache tonight so I'm turning in early. :-/

Day Two Hundred Eighty-Nine.

I guess he did miss me when I went to a session tonight. When I came back he gave me the biggest grins (and even a "hug" and big wet kiss!). And then when I put him in the swing, he couldn't let go of me.

We had a nice evening with my sweet friend and her kids after she watched my kids so I could do a family session. We even got yummy dinner. Fabulous ending to a long week!
