Day Two Hundred Forty-Two.

puddle jumping with Ellie...in the sunshine.

It poured rain while the sun was out, and I missed the rainbow (well, I saw it- but at that exact moment, Gromit got out under the fence and chased squirrels half-way across the base- thank you good people of the base for not running him over! It was "rush" hour and Gavin was just standing in the back yard bawling about how Gromit was gone....) Thankfully two older kids on bikes chased him home after ten minutes. I had just about given up on him! Once he was locked inside- we came back out to puddle jump!

Totally enjoyed a quick trip to target without the kiddos tonight!! So much more enjoyable when my kids aren't screaming at me!!

Day Two Hundred Forty.

This rooster was roaming around tonight during a maternity session I had...He was a scrawny little thing but added some charm to the place :)

Day Two Hundred Thirty-Nine.

We took Gavin to the alligator park to (pre)celebrate getting rid of his pacifier (again). The deal this time was if you go see the big alligators- no more fwa(pacifiers). Tonight went pretty well, he asked for it, was denied (b/c he was snuggled up with the 3 foot long stuffed alligator that somehow managed to come home with us despite my vows to never buy another stuffed animal). I'll have more on the family blog later this weekend. The petting zoo was also a big hit, especially with Ellie who only wanted to get down and run today! :)

Day Two Hundred Thirty-Eight.

 We enjoyed a cool morning outside. It was about 67 when we first went out and I swear I thought we almost needed a sweater! They had fun drawing with the sidewalk chalk, Ellie had a few pony rides and Gavin ran around his favorite tree, the one that has huge roots sticking up out of the ground (which he pretends are alligators!)

Day Two Hundred Thirty-Six.

Gavin really wanted to color with Ellie's new "crayons" this morning. I bought them b/c they are unbreakable and supposedly really easy to color with (smooth sticks). Umm didn't notice they are NOT washable until after they started using them. They are totally special occasion crayons now because I doubt Ellie's dress will ever not be green and my floor was almost impossible to clean....
I love this drawing he did..."Of us and our house! Even our other Ellie" (the new baby)

Took plenty of pictures tonight for our MOPS kickoff but was too sick once home to do anything with them!! :(

Day Two Hundred and Thirty.

Gavin is obsessed with alligators and crocodiles right now, we checked out nearly everything the library had on them...and he just wants to sit and read about them!! :)

The lizard I found in the kitchen tonight when I got home from a meeting...good thing Andrew took care of him while I helped myself to more rice cakes...today has been...bad, on the m/s front!!

Day Two Hundred Twenty-Nine.


We stopped at the MS/LA state line for a "quick" potty break that turned into a forty-five minute stop...and along the way, a train made it's way across the Mississippi River, a barge sailed down the river, both kids threw huge fits, and a creepy guy totally..well, creeped me out.

We all made it back into the car safely and thankfully, in the opposite direction of creepy guy. I'd hate to imagine what kind of weirdos there are at places that don't have the security this rest stop had!?!

Time to pack up and head back to Louisiana tomorrow. So looking forward to that seven hour drive, let me tell you! ;)

Day Two Hundred Twenty-Seven.

Sigh. I took about 50, what I assume would've been fantastic ;) macro butterfly pictures today...before realizing I had never replaced my CF card...not sure why the beep for no card function failed me, but it just about put me over the edge, so yes, with my pregnant hormones, I cried...

I did get a few more of the butterfly once I replaced my card, but then my battery died. So hours later, Ellie modeled this dress of mine from when I was a baby...and then one of the make up macros, this butterfly was so tattered compared to the one I'd stalked without the memory card...

Day Two Hundred Twenty-Five.

My cousin, Tara, brought her little boy, Landon to visit me today at my mom's. It was a good reminder of what is to come at the end of all this morning sickness! (Not that Ellie and Gavin aren't, but Landon is a "newer" reminder!!) Originally, we had planned for me to do his 3 month portraits, but it wasn't a good day for me today, and I just wasn't feeling "on". I promise to make it up at Christmas when sadly he'll probably be sitting up and such a big boy!! :(

Day Two Hundred Twenty-Four.


Didn't feel like doing much of anything today, wandered around after dinner with Gavin and played around with my lensbaby some more...I need to swap out the aperture disks- I've only used the f/4 one so far...but this is a really fun lens to experiment with, and I can't wait to try it out on people that don't move as fast as Gavin ;)

This was my favorite tonight...

And this one was sweet too...

My brother gave me a belated birthday present tonight...

Meet my new (lens)baby...

It's the Muse, and while it's taking a little to get used to such an awesome creative lens...I love it in the hour I had before sunset to play around with it!!

Almost 7 hours later..and almost 400 miles, we are finally in home sweet home Alabama!

 gromit was happy to keep me company today since the morning sickness has definitely returned!!

A twofer...the clouds as we flew over New Orleans and miss holly d brushing her teeth after our flight which totally cracked me up :)
